As some of you eagle eyed viewers might have seen I haven’t been out on tour the last few weeks and it was really disappointing to miss the Alstom Open de France and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open but I have sadly had to overcome injury.
I initially hurt my wrist some time ago, the usual wear and tear of a golf professional I thought but it appears to have been a niggling injury that’s stuck around and after agrivating it prior to the US Open I came home in a lot of pain. I have seen top specialists over the last few weeks who have recommended complete rest for 3-4 weeks and so I just go back to hitting balls this week at home.
The wrist is still completely healed so I am going for a follow up doctors appointment today with an injection which I hope will do the trick. My aim is to get this week under my belt hitting some balls and practicing before heading back out on tour for the Omega European Masters next week in Switzerland, on a course I feel will suit me well.
Its so disappointing to not be able to play in some of the Tour’s biggest and best events but I needed the time to get back to full fitness and make a real challenge the rest of the year.
Thanks for all the support and look forward to seeing you all back on the fairways soon.
